We finished the 2022 harvest

We began on July 28 with the harvest of Gual and Marmajuelo on Isla Baja and ended this week, almost three months later, picking the Tintilla on the Laderas de Teno in El Palmar de Buenavista.

The diversity of varieties that we grow, each one with its corresponding vegetative cycle, in a multitude of plots located from sea level to almost 1,000 meters above sea level, with different orientations that give each one its microclimate, means that we have one of the longest vintages in the world, being one of the first to start and the last to finish in the northern hemisphere.

This singularity helps to understand the wine-growing reality of Tenerife, which, far from being a homogeneous wine-growing territory, is a superposition of territories that range from subtropical climates at sea level, where the varieties that need more heat are grown, to climates continental in the mountains, where we grow the varieties that need more cold, all of which translates into a wide variety of wines.

In general, it has been a cool year, with a good distribution of rains in spring, which facilitated a good vegetative development, which has given us balanced musts, with good acidity, which have gradually been transformed into fresh wines in the winery and elegant.

In terms of quantity, we initially expected a good year, but early rains at the end of August and September reduced the harvest in the highlands.

Once the work of the harvest is finished, it is time to incorporate compost and implant the vegetation cover in the vineyards, to let them rest and recover until the start of pruning at the beginning of next year, while in the winery we focus on taking care of the new ones wines while they reach their fullness.

Faithful to our innovative spirit, this year we will also have news, with new wines that we will present in the coming months.
