Tenerife will be the featured destination in the 2026 edition of the prestigious gastronomic guide Gault & Millau Belgium–Luxembourg, one of the benchmark publications in the field of high European gastronomy.

The island will appear on the cover and occupy sixteen pages in the next edition, where its local produce, cuisine and wines will be presented to the Central European public, showcasing their richness and authenticity.

This milestone, promoted by Turismo de Tenerife and the Island Council, strengthens the island’s position as a destination of gastronomic excellence, shining a light on the uniqueness of its territory, the quality of its professionals and the strength of its culinary identity.

Bodegas Viñátigo, Ambassador of Canarian Wine in Gault & Millau 2026

Among the wineries invited to participate in the activities organized on the occasion of the Gault & Millau editorial team’s visit, Bodegas Viñátigo had the honour of representing the volcanic and Atlantic character of Tenerife wines.

During meetings with journalists and gastronomic influencers from Belgium and Luxembourg, our director, Juan Jesús Méndez Siverio, shared Viñátigo’s vision and commitment to preserving native grape varieties and expressing the landscape through wine.

His contribution highlighted the decades of work that the Viñátigo project has carried out in favour of heroic viticulture in the Canary Islands, varietal research and the crafting of wines defined by identity and precision.

A Unique Opportunity for Canarian Wine

Tenerife’s selection as a highlighted destination by Gault & Millau not only represents international recognition of the island’s gastronomic level, but also a powerful platform for the promotion of Canarian wines in European markets.

The guide, with thousands of readers in Belgium and Luxembourg, influences the travel, purchasing and consumption decisions of a high-purchasing-power audience that values authenticity and origin.

Committed to the Territory

For Bodegas Viñátigo, this initiative reinforces the mission that has guided our work from the very beginning: to show the world the extraordinary viticultural diversity of the Canary Islands and its ability to move and inspire through wine.

Being part of a project of this magnitude, alongside chefs, producers and professionals from across the island, is a source of pride and a renewed motivation to continue researching, preserving and communicating the value of our viticultural heritage.
