The wine that perfumes the blood

We echo through this post a new work that we have just published and that I am sure will be interesting, both for professionals and lovers of the world of wine.

This is a new book entitled "The wine that perfumes the blood", a title that responds to how Shakespeare called Canary Wine in Enrique IV, a work promoted from Viñátigo, directed by our director Juan Jesús Méndez, and published through the PDO Canary Islands, which aims to complement the one published last year "About Canary Wine", where we focused on how the different soils, microclimates, the enormous varietal richness, etc., influence the uniqueness of our wines.

In this new work we take a tour of more than 5 centuries of our wine history, looking at the quotes that we find about Canarian wines in the works of the most relevant writers, philosophers, travelers, etc., which show their historical importance. , mainly between the 16th and 18th centuries, a period in which the Canary Islands were one of the largest producers and exporters of wines in the world.

The objective of these two works is that they are useful material to better understand the uniqueness of Canary Wine and thus be able to transmit its attributes to customers and wine lovers in general.
