Discover the Essence of Tenerife Through Our Parcel and Paraje Wines

Updated: Sep 11, 2023

Since the 1990s, Bodegas Viñátigo's belief and conviction in the work and recovery of local pre-phylloxera vine varieties has been our main task. Carrying out this task for so many years could only be possible with the continuous idea of building an identity for our wines from their local varietals that are unique in the world.

That is why, starting in 2017, a new line of parcel and local wines has emerged that aims to highlight the sense of place and the unique nature of each environment, thus respecting traditional vineyard systems and landscapes of historical viticultural interest in the region. Tenerife island.

The 2022 Vintage: A Tribute to the Diversity of the North of Tenerife

In this recent 2022 vintage, we present three wines from the northern slope, coming from different places, where the climate, the altitude of the vineyard and the soils, always volcanic but extremely different from each other, comprise an immense range of possibilities in the interpretation of the wines. from the north of Tenerife, worked through the same variety, the Listán Blanco de Canarias. Therefore, this new line of wines aims to be a faithful reflection of the diverse landscapes, climates and geographies of the north of our island.

Maipé de Taganana: A tribute to the old vines that grow on old volcanic stones.

Maipé de Taganana is a wine that pays tribute to the old vines that grow on old volcanic stones from a landslide on Mount Las Vueltas. The volcanic soils of the Anaga Massif, one of the oldest on the island, provide structure and body to this wine. Located about 350 meters above sea level and protected from the Atlantic Ocean, this place offers a unique character thanks to its moderate influence of the trade winds.

Lomo de la Era: The viticultural tradition through the braided cord

Lomo de la Era is an authentic expression of the winemaking tradition of northern Tenerife. The vineyards located in the Paraje de la Cruz Santa, cultivated with the traditional braided cord system, sit on young, stony volcanic soils, typical of this area. At an altitude of 500 meters above sea level and with a very direct influence of the trade winds, this wine captures the essence of its place of origin.

Camino de la Peña: Tension, Acidity and freshness from the Icod Valley

Camino de la Peña represents the Portuguese influence on viticulture in the area. The traditional vineyards, cultivated on vines, are located in the Icod Valley, a place marked by recent volcanic eruptions that have created stony and sandy soils. At about 450 meters above sea level and with direct exposure to the trade winds, this wine offers surprising freshness and acidity.
