The entire Bodegas Viñátigo family is in luck. Our winemaker, Elena Batista Herrera, has been recognized with the Rafael Armas Benítez Award for Personal Achievement at the 12th edition of the University of La Laguna's Enogastrotourism Awards. This award recognizes a long career dedicated to excellence, innovation, and the preservation of the Canary Islands' winemaking heritage.
With more than 25 years of experience, Elena Batista leads the Quality, Processes, and R&D department at our winery, playing a key role in the recovery and enhancement of endangered native varieties such as Gual, Marmajuelo, and Baboso Negro. Her work has not only strengthened the identity of our wines but has also contributed to promoting the legacy of the Canary Islands internationally, thanks to collaborations with the University of La Laguna and the Rovira i Virgili University.
This award joins other accolades that validate her distinguished career, such as the ENOMAQ Winemaker Award for Professional Achievement. Her regional focus, her teaching vocation, and her firm commitment to sustainability position her as one of the most influential figures in the Canary Islands winemaking scene.

At Bodegas Viñátigo, we are deeply proud to have your talent, passion, and vision. This recognition not only highlights your work, but also that of the entire team, who, day after day, strive to preserve the diversity of our varieties and the authenticity of our wines.
The award ceremony will take place on May 14th in San Bartolomé, Lanzarote, as a prelude to the Canary Islands International Agro-Wine Tourism Meeting.
Congratulations, Elena, on this well-deserved distinction. Thank you for being the inspiration and driving force behind our commitment to the region.
