Laderas de Teno among the "greatest of the world" for Jancis Robinson

Our Viñátigo Laderas de Teno has been selected as one of the favorite Canarian wines by Jancis Robinson, the respected wine critic and Master of Wine, obtaining a score of 18 out of 20 in a tasting at blinds of 100 references.

The selection, carried out on September 13 and 14, 2022, on the island of Gran Canaria and whose results were recently announced, was made by the renowned sommelier Ferran Centelles – who since 2013 has collaborated with the prestigious British publication –, a prodigious nose that does not hide its praise for Canarian wines, which in its opinion should be considered "a miracle" and which it includes among the world's greats.

Jancis Robinson has inspired the wine industry for over forty years with works such as The Oxford Companion to Wine, The World Atlas of Wine and Wine Grapes, considered the bible of wine professionals. came. She is also the author of Expert in Wine in 24 Hours and a regular columnist for the Financial Times.

Robinson was the first woman to earn the title of Master of Wine and is considered the world's most respected wine critic and journalist by Decanter magazine. The blind tasting revealed the 13 most exceptional wines, and Laderas de Teno was among them.

According to our director of Bodegas Viñátigo, Juan Jesús Méndez, being included in Robinson's article is a great success, since she is the most important wine critic in Europe, and Centelles is a reference in the world of wine.

Méndez highlights the presence of innovative and established wines in the Robinson selection, confirming the values of "uniqueness and quality". He adds that the references included in the article are very accurate. The recognition of Laderas de Teno by Robinson and Centelles is a significant achievement for Bodegas Viñátigo and a testament to the quality of wines from the Canary Islands.

The blind tasting and selection process is an excellent way to eliminate bias and allow the wines to speak for themselves. The selection by highly respected experts is a testament to the exceptional quality of Laderas de Teno and the Canary Islands wine industry as a whole.
